FAQ - GENERAL QUESTIONS ABOUT PARTICIPATION

 

How do I get my starting number / bib?
On presentation of a valid photo ID, you will receive an arm loop in front of the Hervis store in Saalbach. You can then enter the store and pick up your starting number (only in person) by showing again a photo ID. >> Starting number

Can I switch from the TOUR to the MARATHON?
Yes. A change from TOUR to MARATHON can be decided spontaneously during the race. The race management sees the change in the data based on the race chip and automatically evaluates the participant in the MARATHON results list.  >> Rules

Can I switch from the MARATHON to the TOUR?
Yes. A change from MARATHON to TOUR is possible during the race. The race management sees the change in the data based on the race chip and automatically evaluates the participant in the TOUR result list. There is a time penalty of +10 minutes in the result list. >> Rules

Can I change the event before the race (15 October to 12 January)?
Yes, you can change the race in your personal Time2Win account. You will receive your account with the confirmation of your online registration. You can access your account at any time and change the event later - within the specified period - or order the entry fee insurance and various shop articles.

Can I start as a marathon or tour participant and at the same time as part of a STAFFEL, i.e. in 2 competitions in parallel?
No - it is currently not planned that you can start in parallel across categories. The relay participants will only start in the 2nd starting wave with the Schattberg Race. The new relay event is primarily aimed at participants who want to split the marathon distance and/or company teams!

Can the route be viewed in advance for training purposes?
Yes. All routes (Schattberg Race, TOUR, MARATHON) can be viewed during the piste opening times. The ascent must always take place one after the other on the edge of the slope. Bringing animals is not allowed. >> Important to know

What if I'm sick on race day?
If you have taken out entry fee insurance with our partner GARANTA Versicherung in advance when registering, you will be reimbursed the entry fee with a small deductible upon presentation of a medical certificate. The notification must be made by email before the race! >> Informations

Unfortunately, I cannot start myself, can I pass my starting place on to someone else? 
No. A transfer of starting places is not possible for insurance reasons. All starting places are personalized in the name of the participant, and mountain protection insurance is deposited with GARANTA Versicherung for everyone. An illegal transfer of starting places leads to the disqualification and suspension of both persons for the following two years. >> Conditions

Who can start from the first starting block? 
The following athletes are eligible to start from the first starting block: MARATHON men's TOP 30 from the previous year; MARATHON women's Top 5 from the previous year, TOUR men's Top 5 from the previous year, TOUR women's Top 5 from the previous year, MARATHON +45 Top 3 from the previous year, TOUR +45 Top 3 from the previous year, athletes of the organiser team, international top athletes (Top 50 ISMF World Ranking). 

I forgot some of my equipment. How do I get replacement material in an emergency?
At the Hervis store in Saalbach, skins, sticks, wax and other items can be purchased. The Hervis staff will also help with small repairs. >> Important to know

How do I get my entry fee back in the case of a cancellation?
The organizer will communicate the process of refunding the entry fee via social media and the homepage. The entry fee can be reclaimed by the participant within a period of time. After the deadline, 50% of the entry fee will be refunded to the participant by the organizer. The remaining 50% remain with the organizer due to the costs incurred up to then for administration, preparation, PR, advertising and social media costs, personnel costs, etc. >> Covid-Measures

I am registered, have paid, but have not been vaccinated or recovered. What should I do?
Participation on the day of the event is only possible with 2G (vaccinated or recovered). Anyone who has not yet been vaccinated should inform us by December 10, 2021, at the latest whether their vaccination status will change by the day of the event. Otherwise, the starting place will be forfeited and people from the waiting list will move up. There is no entitlement to a refund of the entry fee in the event that you are not vaccinated and therefore cannot start (according to the conditions of participation - accepted with registration). >> Covid-Measures

Can you go with a splitboard, snowshoes or cross-country skis?
No. Participation in the race is only permitted with the use of commercially available touring ski equipment (skis with steel edges, bindings, touring ski boots, skins, sticks). A violation leads to disqualification. >> Rules

Which equipment is mandatory to bring with you during the race?
According to the rules, a rescue blanket must be carried with you. Helmets and headlamps are also compulsory. We also recommend bringing a rucksack with warm clothes (jacket, gloves, hood), enough provisions, as well as crampons and spare skins with you. >> Rules

Can I take my dog ​​with me when I run?
No. Taking animals with you during the race is not allowed and will result in disqualification. >> Rules

Where can I park my car?
The car can be parked in the signposted parking lots, in the Schattberg underground car park, the Kohlmais underground car park and at the car park at the entrance to the town (opposite BILLA). >> Important to know

How and where can I book a room?
Rooms can be booked through the Saalbach Tourist Office at www.saalbach.com.

Can I put my clothes / material somewhere?
No sorry. It is not possible to deposit objects on the event site. 

Where are the toilets?
There are enough toilets in the valley station of the Schattberg X-Press.
